I grew up on a ranch in Valentine, Ne. From there, I attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. While attending, I represented the University in calf roping, team roping, and steer wrestling. I participated in the National College Finals Rodeo in Bozeman, Montana. From there, I received a full-ride rodeo scholarship to attend Chadron State College, Chadron, Nebraska, where I obtained my Business Administration degree as well as my Agri-Business degree. I was, I am, and I will always be, a true Husker Fan.
My wife Jennifer and I have 10 children and 8 grandchildren. There is never a dull moment around these parts. We also own 50 cows. In the summer of 2023, we purchased 7 chickens that have now grown to 42 chickens. Who knew chickens could be so entertaining? I also enjoy planting our own garden. I plant and grow, while my wife does the preserving and canning.
I have been in the sales industry for 25+ years. Starting out in the Ag industry with Cargill Animal Nutrition selling feed to ranchers, I then started building a retail network around Colorado, Nebraska, Montana, Wyoming and Kansas resulting in $2 million in new business in an 18-month period. I then added Dairy accounts within the Colorado, Wyoming and Kansas areas.
I went into Insurance Sales in 2013, where I found that my background within the Ag community assisted in developing relationships with the ranching and farming communities ultimately contributing to being one of the top performers in my first 18 months with Family Heritage. To this day, I am still in contact with many of my clients.
I am looking forward to being a part of the American National Team and all the successes we will have.
